Super Tuesdays Coming This Fall

Raising a child isn’t easy. All caregivers need support. Starting this Fall, each Tuesday there will be free workshops for caregivers of children ages 10 and under at various community partner locations.

Achieving Community Together in partnership with Alberta Parenting For The Future, Spruce Grove Library, Stony Plain Library, Entwistle Library, Parkland School Division, Stony Plain and Spruce Grove Family and Community Support Services, will be providing programming to support the many young families in the Tri Region.

Starting September 4, each community partner will take a turn hosting a session which includes some children’s programming and a light supper. All events will be posted to the Compass calendar, however here is some information on a few programs already planned:

Alberta Parenting For the Future will host the first Tuesday of every month. Programs include “Developing Good Bedtime Routines”, “Kids Have Stress Too”, “Healthy Together”, and “Hassle-Free Shopping”. Each of these sessions will provide caregivers with some tools and skills for coping with everyday situations as well as developing healthy daily routines.

The 3 libraries will be hosting every 2nd Tuesday of the month and will include such programs as “A Taste Of Tech”, “Getting To Know Our Robot Overlords”, and “Digi-Gifting”. These programs are all child friendly and families are welcome to come and play together.

Parkland School Division will host every 3rd Tuesday of the month. Programs include “Growing Up Wired: Supporting Your Child in a Connected World”, “Altering the Teen Brain: What you need to know about drug use”, “How Art Heals Grief”, and more.

Stony Plain and Spruce Grove FCSS will be jointly hosting the sessions on the last Tuesday of every month. Programs include “Cool as a Cucumber” – how to cope with anxiety, “Well(ness) Connected”, and “Speak Up! Assertive Communication workshop”. These sessions will be hosted at the Border Paving Athletic Centre.

Watch for more information on the Compass calendar. Some workshops require advanced registration.
