Tri-Region Terry Fox Run

I am sure you have heard of Terry Fox and the run. Have you? As a kid in school, did you raise money for the run? Did you know what you were running for?

The Terry Fox Foundation works to achieve a world without cancer. For over 30 years they have been raising money for cancer research. $0.82 out of every dollar that is raised for this foundation goes directly to all kinds ofcancer research!

This week I had the privilege of meeting Becky, cousin of Terry Fox. Becky  is passionate about cancer research, as cancer has affected her family closely. In fact, statistics show that nearly 1 out of 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Becky is a resident of Spruce Grove and organizer of the Terry Fox run for the Tri-Region. This year the Tri-Region is invited to the Terry Fox Run at Jubilee Park! Mark your calendars for Sunday, Sept.16. This is going to be family-friendly, fun event!
